The house

Built in 1962 by Annibale Pagani, Casa Parentela has belonged to our family for three generations. For many years, it mainly welcomed relatives as well as summer holiday camps. Since 2016, we have decided to open this special place to guests, first via Airbnb and later Booking.com, while carrying out major renovations to offer a high level of comfort without losing the soul of the house.

Located in Ligornetto, in southern Ticino, the house enjoys a peaceful setting between vineyards and forest, with a beautiful open view over the Mendrisiotto. Thanks to its generous living spaces, bedrooms spread over two levels, renovated kitchen and outdoor areas, it is suitable both for family stays and trips with friends.

Casa Parentela can accommodate up to 14 guests depending on the selected configuration. The outdoor pool, jacuzzi, dining areas, shaded spaces and indoor equipment have been designed to ensure a comfortable, friendly and practical stay throughout the year.

A place designed for comfortable stays

The upper floor includes three bedrooms, a living room, a kitchen and a bathroom. The lower floor, available for stays of more than eight guests, completes the accommodation capacity with two additional bedrooms and a second bathroom. This layout allows large families or groups to stay comfortably while maintaining a good distribution of space.

The bedrooms were renovated between 2017 and 2018 and offer comfortable bedding. One of them is equipped with a television. The living room is warm and functional, featuring a TV with streaming services, a dining area, a sofa bed, a home‑office corner suitable for remote work, and a wood‑burning fireplace for cooler seasons.

The kitchen, renovated in 2019, is fully equipped: induction hob, oven, dishwasher, large fridge‑freezer, Italian coffee maker, Nespresso, Dolce Gusto, kettle, Kenwood food processor, SodaStream, toaster and all necessary kitchen utensils. We place great importance on the quality of the equipment so that everyone feels at home.

Useful information for your stay

Check‑in is from 3:00 PM and check‑out before 10:00 AM. If the key code has not been sent before your arrival, please contact us. The code for the lower floor is different and is only provided when this part of the house is included in the booking.

Wi‑Fi is available throughout the house under the name lig0rnett0. Bed linen, bath towels and kitchen linen, as well as basic toiletries, are included. For extra comfort, we recommend bringing your own large pool towels.

We kindly ask our guests to leave the house tidy, without having to carry out full cleaning. Before departure, please place used linen in the bathtub on the upper floor, run a dishwasher cycle and empty the refrigerator of perishable items. Non‑perishable food may be left if it can be useful for future guests.

Respect for the neighborhood and the spirit of the place

The house is located at the end of an agricultural road, in a very quiet environment. We therefore ask everyone to respect the neighborhood, especially after 10:00 PM, by avoiding excessive noise, loud music or disruptive outdoor behavior. Common sense is usually sufficient to preserve the peaceful atmosphere of the place.

We know that a holiday stay should remain a moment of relaxation. We simply ask our guests to take good care of the property and to report any breakage or damage. Minor incidents are often handled with flexibility, but major unreported damage may result in additional charges.

Outdoor areas, dining and relaxation

The property offers beautiful outdoor spaces with several relaxation areas. Two plots located on the west side of the house allow you to enjoy the sun or seek shade depending on the time of day. A dining area under the trees, several sun loungers, hanging seats and a hammock complete the outdoor facilities.

Three cooking facilities are available: a gas barbecue, a wood grill and an outdoor fire pit. Gas is provided and a replacement bottle is available in the garage if needed. Wood or charcoal provided should be used responsibly, in a spirit of sharing with future guests.

Safety barriers around terraces and the pool are in place to prevent falls. Please do not climb on them or hang weight on them to avoid damage or accidents.

Swimming pool

The swimming pool is reserved exclusively for house guests. It measures approximately 9 × 5 m, with a depth ranging from 1.30 m to 1.45 m. It is generally open from mid‑May to mid‑September, or longer depending on weather conditions.

To keep the water clear and pleasant, please follow a few simple rules: put the floating cover back when the pool is not in use, shower before swimming, do not jump into the water and never place chlorine tablets directly into the pool. Pets are not allowed to swim, to protect the filtration system.

A cleaning robot is provided for daily maintenance. Its filter must be cleaned after each use to avoid deposits, unpleasant odors and premature wear. In case of storms or cloudy water, please inform us promptly.

Jacuzzi

The jacuzzi is accessible all year round, day and night. It is designed for a maximum of three people and intended as a relaxation area. Quiet use is requested, especially between 10:00 PM and 8:00 AM, to respect the neighborhood.

A shower is mandatory before each use and swimwear is required. The jacuzzi must always remain covered when not in use to maintain water quality and temperature. It must never be switched off during your stay.

Children should not use it without close supervision and its use is not recommended for young children. Food is not allowed; only drinks in non‑breakable containers are permitted. Any damage to the jacuzzi may be charged.

Waste, recycling and maintenance

In the region, household waste must be disposed of in official bags. Guests are responsible for taking their garbage to the designated collection points. Glass and aluminum must be taken to the appropriate recycling facilities. We thank you for respecting waste sorting to protect the environment. Waste collection map (PDF)

The cleaning fee covers not only final cleaning but also various costs related to your stay: tourist tax, fire insurance, Internet, official waste bags, outdoor maintenance, pool and jacuzzi maintenance products, as well as barbecue gas.

Pets, baby equipment and extras

Pets are welcome at Casa Parentela. Bowls are available for them. However, pets must not enter the pool or jacuzzi, as hair can damage the filters.

For families with babies, we provide a folding baby bed, high chair, potty and changing table. If you have specific needs, please let us know before arrival.

Important: biological tank

The house is not connected to the municipal sewage system. It operates with a biological tank and a lifting pump. For this reason, it is strictly forbidden to throw anything into the toilets other than toilet paper.

In case of blockage, repair costs can be very high. This rule is essential to avoid inconvenience during or after your stay.
